During our investigation we decided to take Jay's digital audio recorder and place it on the third floor. This floor had the presence of an angry entity, which you will learn about after you read our experience. The recorder was put up there on it's own and we stayed on the first floor. You can hear what sounds to be someone rattling the door or other things in the room. Definatly sounds like someone is up there! This took place around 2am and please turn up your volume! This next clip is from the same recordering but later on in the night. If you listen you will hear first rattling again and then the voice of a little girl saying something we can't make out. Now remember..this was between 2 and 3am, no kid was up at this time and it is not a residential area. Please turn up your volume! Listen to this clip HERE

Our Experience 

We got an email from the owner of a 3-storey building in Lindsay, Ontario which we will keep unnamed, asking us to visit her haunted location.  We packed up our things and left for Lindsay to investigate! The three storeys consist of a store on the first floor and the other two above which are apartments that are not rented at the moment.  We arrived at 8pm and met up with Crystal and Andrea.  At this time we decided to climb the steep dark stairway to the top apartment.  We got all our equipment set up to begin our investigation.

As soon as Brenda and Amanda climbed the stairway they sensed the ghost of an angry poltergeist.  If you are unfamiliar with this word, it means when a ghost can actually physically move objects. This ghost is best described as a tall, dark haired male with a wiry, muscular body in his late thirties, early forties.   We felt drawn to the very top apartment so we ventured up there.  One of the rooms was totally painted in a blood red colour by the previous tenant. 

While in the room we all felt as if many eyes were watching us. Very violent things had happened in the past and the air was filled with negative energy.  Brenda picked up on a name John Henry.  Then the violent male spirit let themselves be known. We have EVP of this spirit. The spirit got angry and told us to stop and started to swear.  He had bad experiences as a child and was abused by his mother or saw something he was not supposed to see as a child. 

Amanda and Crystal began to pick up on this man as well and were greeted by swearing against the women on the investigation. We became very uncomfortable and began to lose our breath.  Every time we tried to talk to the ghost Jay’s mic would squeal, which never happens. Crystal saw the ghost make its way to the living room so we proceeded.  Amanda started picking up on a boy hiding in a corner, like someone was coming to hurt him. He was asking for help, terrified of what was to come.  She was overwhelmed by emotions channeled by this spirit and started to cry. We tried to be very careful as we made our way down the stairs because this poltergeist might just be angry enough to push us.

We made our way to the basement, which we enter through a large door in the floor you have to lift up.  At first glance it looks like a secret passage way, with old creaking wooden stairs. The walls are all brick and the floor cemented.  As soon as the door was opened Amanda heard people running, like they were scattering away from the front of the stairs.  After you walk down and look back, under the stairs there are piles of rocks like someone had blocked a passage way. Brenda picks up that they use to hide people down in this basement, during times of slavery.  After someone had found out about this they blocked it up.  As you observe the walls you notice that there are two spots where the brick is different then the rest. On one side you there is wood boarded up to make almost like a small doorway.  Amanda hears “Hurry run, hurry run” as we go deeper into the basement. In a picture viewed later there are orbs around Amanda.

Brenda and Amanda agreed that they sensed a body had been buried in the basement somewhere.  Crystal started to feel a burning sensation on her arm which started our communication with a new spirit. So we started to ask them questions.  Brenda and Crystal sensed a female spirit who was murdered by two men that took her to the basement.  They caught her by surprise and took her because she had seen something that she wasn’t suppose to see. Brenda said “She got her throat slit” and Crystal said that “a locket that belonged to her was buried in the brick wall somewhere”.   The female entity was stressing the importance of looking in the wall.  Jay heard footsteps with his equipment. Then the ghost of a little boy about age 9, named Jeffery made his presence known.    Brenda spoke for the boy saying “If we made noises, they would come, the men and if one of us left they never returned”.  Brenda picks up on the name Ashley and Dominic who she describes as an older man with a ponytail.  She thinks that they kept children down there for a black market.

Crystal has seen many children in the building since she’s owned it, at the time one of them was in the corner like he was going to be punished and another watching us as we walked down the stairs from the upper levels.  Then Crystal said “One of them is specifying the fifth brick to the left”.  We were trying to figure it out when all of a sudden Jay, Crystal and Amanda suddenly picked up on a male presence. Jay and Crystal picked up on hostility and could hear heavy breathing.  He was definitely not very happy that we were down in the basement.  We tried to communicate with the female presence again to find out where that locket is! Jay then suddenly got a tug on his shirt by an unseen visitor.  Crystal then got a message from the little boy, “get out, get out, get out, he’s coming”.  Amanda heard the angry presence say in a hostile powerful voice, “YOU! YOU!”.  So we thought we might of overstayed our welcome in the basement and decided to go upstairs!  The frequencies on jay’s audio equipment went crazy and it was screeching non-stop! The ghost children that are present there were panicking because they didn’t want us to get in trouble. Rachel and Amanda picked up on a names Simone and George, just someone who wanted to be acknowledged.  Brenda also felt that the same spirit who had her throat slit use to sing to the children to calm them. They slit her throat so she could not sing again.  Crystal, Jay and Amanda became overwhelmed by heat as if they were burning up from the energy. 

We all made our way into the bathroom which consists of two stalls because Brenda felt a tug on her finger by a child to come in.  Amanda felt a little uneasy when the door began to move on it’s own…Crystal says that the door will open on it’s own even when it’s been locked. As Brenda investigated with the help of this boy, she found a boarded up door behind the one stall.  The door is totally hidden unless you go in the next stall and duck to the floor.  When you look behind, you can see the same nailed up wooden doorway as we saw in the basement. This is obviously from many years ago and we are not sure where it would of led because there has been renovations since.

All of us ventured back to the second level to take a look around. There is a ceiling fan with a light on this level and we turned everything off after we left to go to the first floor.  Later that night we stepped outside to witness the lights and fan going on the second floor.  No one had been up there and there is no way anyone can even get there unless they had the key! So at this point we decided to send Jay up to the top level with his digital recorder.  He left it running for the rest of the night.  At a later time we reviewed the audio to find rattling, movement and even the voice of a little girl.

Our group decided to set up camp on the main level.  We sat down on the ground at one end of the room and put out our cameras to start recording.  At one moment all of us saw a dark shadow swoop by from one side of the room to the other.  Everything was quiet when at the back of the room objects flew off the shelves!
